Mark E. Cohen
Mr. Cohen heads the firm's Insurance Coverage Practice Group, and concentrates his practice in the areas of insurance coverage, employment law, and other complex litigation.
He attended Brandeis University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude with high honors in Political Science in 1976. He subsequently graduated from the Boston University School of Law, cum laude, in 1979. While in law school, Mr. Cohen was a staff member and later Topics Editor of the American Journal of Law & Medicine. Mr. Cohen was an Instructor in Legal Research and Writing at Boston University School of Law for three years. He frequently speaks to various insurance trade associations, insurers, and law firms on topics such as general liability and employment practices liability coverage, most recently having presented seminars entitled, "The Nuts and Bolts of Liability Insurance: What Every Business Attorney Needs to Know," "Ten Things an Employment Defense Attorney Needs to Know about EPLI Coverage," "Denying EPLI Claims Without Facing Bad Faith Allegations," "The Ten Most Important Coverage Issues Under Architects and Engineers Professional Liability Policies," and most recently at the Defense Research Institute's 2007 National Conference on Bad Faith, "Preparing for a Defense Vertict with Motions in Limine." He was also the Regional Editor (for Massachusetts, New York and New Hampshire) for DRI's Bad Faith Compendium, which was published in 2006.
In November 2004, Mr. Cohen was named as one of the leading insurance lawyers in Massachusetts by Massachusetts Super Lawyers (Boston Magazine).
Mr. Cohen is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the United States Court of Appeals for the First and Sixth Circuits, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association.
Mr. Cohen serves on the Board of Directors and is the Secretary of Wellesley Little League, and this year he coached a little league team to the Town finals. The previous two summers he coached the 15 and 16 year-old Lou Tomkins All Star League team to championships.
