David T. Mitrou
Mr. Mitrou concentrates his practice in the areas of civil litigation, recreation and adventure program liability, railroad and transportation liability, insurance fraud, contract disputes, and tort defense.
He attended Ithaca College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in Applied Psychology in 1996. He later received his law degree from the Northeastern University School of Law in 1999. After law school, Mr. Mitrou served as an Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County, New York. He has been with the firm since May 2000 and became a partner in February 2006.
Mr. Mitrou is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He is also admitted to practice in New York. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel. Mr. Mitrou has argued before both the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and the Massachusetts Appeals Court.
Mr. Mitrou has extensive experience handling high-profile litigation. Mr. Mitrou's legal skills were featured on Court TV when his victory in the Glovsky v. MBTA trial was profiled in May 2005. He is presently involved in defense of litigation arising out of the Station Nightclub Fire, and has handled numerous other complex and sensitive matters.
Mr. Mitrou's baseball skills were featured on the big screen in Fever Pitch, a film starring Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon. Click here for proof. Mr. Mitrou is also an avid outdoorsman and PADI-certified Rescue SCUBA Diver.
In May 2006, and again in May 2007, Mr. Mitrou was named as one of Massachusetts' Rising Stars in civil litigation in Massachusetts Super Lawyers - Rising Star Edition.
He has served as a faculty member for the MCLE's Handling Motor Vehicle Cases seminar where he presented on Trial Strategies and Use of Experts at Trial and authored seminar materials entitled Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation: A Defense Perspective for the Massachusetts Bar Association's Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation continuing legal education seminar.
