Biography

Ms. Colbert has more than 15 years of experience in complex insurance coverage matters involving insurance policies issued in multiple states. She has represented insurers under a wide variety of insurance policies including professional liability, commercial general liability, directors' and officers' liability, and fidelity bonds. She has also represented insurers in insurance bad faith litigation and has provided litigation and appellate support in the areas of product and general liability, professional malpractice, and commercial disputes.

Ms. Colbert is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

HONORS AND AWARDS

While in law school, Ms. Colbert received three American Jurisprudence Awards in Constitutional Law, UCC-Secured Transactions and UCC-Sales. She was a member of the New England Law Review (1990 – 1992) and was elected to the position of Business Managing Editor of the New England Law Review for the 1991-1992 term, receiving her third year of law school tuition-free as a result.

RECENT ARTICLES AND PUBLICATIONS

  • Ms. Colbert co-authored a chapter on property insurance policies which appears in the MCLE publication entitled Massachusetts Liability Insurance Manual.
  • She also co-authored an article entitled “Recent Developments in Insurance Coverage Litigation” which appeared in the Winter 2000 Tort & Ins. Law Journal.
